What If Wanting More Isn't Greedy?

Last week's conversation in our Momentum coaching program started with a simple statement from one of our clients.
"Wanting more is greedy."
As soon as she said it, we saw heads nodding around the Zoom room.
It was one of those moments when you realize someone has given voice to a belief that so many of us have quietly carried.
Maybe you've felt it too.
You dream about growing your business.
Making more money.
Traveling more.
Hiring help.
Writing the book.
Speaking on bigger stages.
Creating a life with more freedom, more ease, and more joy.
And then, almost immediately, another voice whispers...
"Shouldn't I just be grateful for what I already have?"
"Isn't wanting more selfish?"
"Who am I to want that?"
Somewhere along the way, many of us—especially women—learned that desire was something to apologize for.
That if we wanted more, we must somehow be ungrateful.
But I've been thinking...
What if we've confused desire with greed?
Because they are not the same thing.
Greed is wanting more at the expense of someone else.
It's driven by scarcity.
It believes there isn't enough.
It says, "I need more, even if someone else gets less."
Wanting more, however, can come from a completely different place.
It can come from purpose.
From possibility.
From expansion.
From the quiet knowing that there is still more of you waiting to be expressed.
Maybe you want more freedom because you want to be present with your family.
Maybe you want more income so you can give more generously.
Maybe you want a thriving business because you know your gifts are meant to impact more lives.
Maybe you simply want more peace.
More laughter.
More adventure.
More time.
None of that is greedy.
In fact, when we become more of who we truly are, everyone around us benefits.
Our families benefit.
Our clients benefit.
Our communities benefit.
The world benefits.
One question I keep coming back to is this:
Do I want more so I can prove I'm enough... or do I want more because I'm ready to express more of who I already am?
Those are two very different places to create from.
One is fueled by fear.
The other is fueled by love.
At The Presario Group, we often say:
Nothing missing. Nothing broken.
That belief changes everything.
You don't have to earn your worth.
You don't have to hustle to become enough.
You already are.
And because you already are...
You're allowed to want more.
More joy.
More connection.
More impact.
More abundance.
More peace.
Not because you'll finally be enough when you get there.
But because your dreams are often invitations.
Invitations to grow.
To stretch.
To trust.
To become more fully yourself.
Maybe wanting more isn't greed.
Maybe it's growth.
Maybe it's your soul reminding you that there is more life to live, more love to give, and more of your unique gifts to share with the world.
So today, instead of asking whether wanting more is greedy...
We invite you to ask a different question.
What if wanting more is simply an invitation to become more of who you were created to be?
What are you allowing yourself to want more of?
We would love to hear from you.
